What You'll Learn
Course Overview: Personal Defense with Pepper Spray (ASP and Sabre)
This course provides a practical, common-sense foundation for using the two most respected names in personal safety: ASP and Sabre. We focus on helping you choose the right tool for your lifestyle and giving you the hands-on skills to use it effectively if you ever face a threat.
What You Will Learn:
The Best Tool for the Job: We compare the ASP Defender, a discreet, refillable metal tool, with Sabre Red, the world’s most popular personal safety canisters. You will learn which is better for your pocket, purse, or home.
Mechanical Confidence: Hands-on practice with different safety designs. Whether it is the ASP brass safety toggle or Sabre’s flip-top and twist-lock covers, you will learn how to get the spray ready in a flash of sight.
Targeting and Delivery: Not all sprays come out the same. We practice with the ASP wide cone pattern and Sabre’s precise stream or gel options, teaching you how to hit the T-zone (eyes and nose) even under stress.
The Burst and Move Strategy: Practical drills on how to use a short burst to stop an attacker and immediately move to safety. We focus on creating distance, not staying to fight.
Safety and Aftercare: How to safely carry your spray every day, how to check for expiration, and what to do if you accidentally get the spray on yourself or others.
This class is built for everyday people who want a simple, rock-solid plan for personal protection. No prior experience is needed—just a desire to be better prepared for life's what-ifs.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
What We'll Teach
SABRE Sprays & Gels
This class will introduce you to the pepper sprays and gels offered by SABRE. You will learn what makes these devices so effective, as well as what you need to consider when carrying them. Plus, you will get hands-on training with SABRE practice sprays which will increase your confidence and competence in carrying them as a means of self-protection.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
All students will be given an Sabre Fast Flip Top Safety & a Practice Spray as well as an ASP Sport Defender D1. If you are a MA resident it's important to make sure you're not a prohibited person for pepper spray.
