What You'll Learn

Learn the fundamentals of pistol shooting in a friendly environment while qualifying for your enhanced concealed carry permit. You will learn: the basic Firearms safety rules, the function of single, double, and semi-automatic pistols, to include proper sight alignment, sight picture, breath control, and trigger control, cleaning and taking proper care of your firearms. You will learn how to resolve common firearms failures. Training time is expected to last 8 hours in the classroom prior to range time. Students are encouraged to bring their own range gear: firearm, ammunition, eye protection, ear protection; if any gear (or firearm) is needed please contact us ahead of time so that we can make arrangements.

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded, but may be rescheduled.

Over 1 million students have taken the U.S. Concealed Carry Association’s course offerings across the nation. Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.

This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.

Additional Notes from Your Instructor

NOTE: No live ammo is allowed in the training room. Firearms will be checked. Classroom portion of the class is at Gulf Coast Training & Education Services, located at 1015 Howard Avenue, Suite C in Biloxi. Once the classroom portion is complete, we will travel to another location for the live-fire portion of our class.

    "Weapons have been part of my life since 1963 where from the age off 11 I was expected to hunt after school to help feed the family. I have hunted moose and caribou in Alaska, mulies in N. Dakota, whitetail in Michigans UP. Owned in excess of 25 shotguns, 40 rifles, a dozen handguns...but despite all of that experience, very little of it applies to the study of concealed weapons and the tenets that accompany the philosophy and training I received last weekend. The professionalism, the knowledge, and the sincere efforts by the team of Robert Cavaco and Sheila Farr set an example that other instructors can only emulate. I cannot express my appreciation for their efforts that turned what might be considered mundane into something that was not only informational, but an event that was instructive and enjoyable.
