My Biography
Mike has been shooting all of his life and starting teaching Permit to Carry Classes as a Master Instructor for PlusP over 20 years ago. Recently back in the field, he applies his business experience to the classroom setting for a class that is both informative and engaging. Mike frequently teaches public classes and also women only classes with his wife Jody. Mike honed his business management, marketing, sales, project management, and computer (hardware and software) skills in such diverse industries as staffing, insurance, landmine removal, computer retail, high-tech computer systems engineering, and as an Airborne Ranger in the U.S. Army.

Classroom instruction will be at Younger Gunworks. The range portion will be at Caribou Gun Club (Range cost is $10). Please bring a lunch to eat during class. Water and snacks will be provided. Please bring a handgun, ear protection and 50 rounds of ammunition.
This course is designed for woman with a focus on firearm safety, functionality and basic instruction of a handgun. Mike & his wife will engage with students to explain and demonstrate fundamentals of firearm handling and safe shooting. Students will use a laser system to practice the skills taught prior to the final session at the range. This course is for both those who have never touched a firearm and those who have limited experience and simply want to learn more. Students are invited to bring a list of questions knowing this is a judgement free setting.

We are excited to invite you to a special USCCA Women’s Firearm Safety Course on Sunday, September 7, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, hosted at Younger Gunworks in Le Center.
This course is designed specifically for women and focuses on firearm safety, functionality, and the fundamentals of handgun use. Whether you’re brand new to firearms or simply looking to gain more confidence and skill, this is a judgment-free, supportive environment led by both male and female instructors. We utilize a laser training system before moving to a live-fire session at the range.
Topics include:
- Firearms safety and operation
- Fundamentals of shooting
- Self-defense principles
- Legal use of force
- Personal and home protection planning
The course also includes Minnesota Permit to Carry training for those who wish to obtain or renew their permit.
Please bring a handgun, ear protection, and 50 rounds of ammunition. If you do not yet have a firearm, we are happy to meet outside of class time to review safe and appropriate options with you and your purchasing advocate.
Range time will be held at Caribou Gun Club. The classroom fee is $90 and the range fee is $10. Pop, water and snacks will be provided during class.

This is a 2 hour introductory class focused on firearm basics, how they function, ammunition types, and how to check and clear the most common types of rifles, shotguns and handguns. There will be ample time for questions and the class will be limited to female students.
The class will be taught by the legendary sniper Todd VanLangen and his assistant instructor Mike Wolbrink. It will focus on ballistics and the fundamentals of long range shooting. The class will run 9-5 on Saturday and 9-2 on Sunday. The cost will be $550 and include printed materials, range time and a Tactical Vigilante tumbler for graduates. Students will have to provide their own snacks, meals and lodging.
