What You'll Learn
(Disclaimer: SIG Sauer P320 pistols and all P320-based models are not permitted in this course due to liability concerns. Rental pistols are available — please contact baerrentraining@gmail.com for details.)
This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of concealed carry in an approachable, honest, and practical environment. The primary focus is on firearm safety, Michigan concealed carry law, responsible firearm ownership, and the basic fundamentals of operating your pistol safely and effectively.
Most of the class will focus on understanding the legal and practical realities of carrying a firearm, along with basic firearm identification and handling. This is an entry-level course intended to qualify students to apply for a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
You do not need to bring a holster, and there will be no timed shooting drills or high-pressure exercises. The goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions, learn at their own pace, and leave with a solid understanding of both the law and responsible concealed carry practices.
This course is NOT:
- A Navy SEAL academy
- A “the instructor is always right” seminar
- An 8-hour lecture where students can’t ask questions
All experience levels are welcome — whether you’re brand new to firearms or already have experience around them. I’m always happy to answer questions before or after class through text or email to help make sure you feel comfortable and prepared.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
