Concealed Carry & Home Defense

My Biography

After teaching public school for three years, I left the classroom to embark on a career in law enforcement, where I have proudly served as a police officer for more than 21 years. I am an instructor with the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) and the Washtenaw County Community College Police Academy. I am also a certified Concealed Pistol License (CPL) instructor with the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) and a certified Violent Critical Incident (VCI) Response instructor through ALICE Active Shooter Response Training. In addition to my experience as an instructor of police officers and law enforcement students, I have also been a coach, a tutor, a camp counselor, and a youth mentor. The education and empowerment of others have always been in my heart. I created Smart Rabbit Safety School because I want to share with others the knowledge that I have learned throughout my career: strategies to face everyday threats in a modern world, the freedom in overcoming fear, and a life of confidence, self-reliance, and peace of mind.

"I really enjoyed this class. Nate is a great instructor. He is knowledgeable and engaging. He was able to answer everyone's questions and provide great examples to help solidify our understanding. On the range, he was patient and took his time instructing people who needed extra support. He provided easy to understand feedback that helped me improve my hold and stance with my firearm.
