What You'll Learn
*NOTE: You will need to bring at least 400 rounds of ammunition.
Handgun Level 2 is the next step after our Handgun Level 1 class. If you have not taken our Handgun Level 1 class, contact me to make sure that your prior training is sufficient. This is not a class you can jump into.
In handgun Level 1 we go over six primary categories:
- The universal firearms safety rules.
- Marksmanship fundamentals.
- Proper trigger reset.
- Recoil control.
- Unsighted rapid fire.
- Drawing from a concealed holster.
In Handgun Level 2, we start by doing an audit of those skills to refresh your memory. After that, we will build on those by training you on the concepts and skills below:
- Clearing stoppages.
- Emergency and tactical reloads.
- One handed drawing and shooting.
- Target transitions.
- How to use cover and concealment.
- Tactics and scenario based training.
You need to bring a sturdy concealment holster, a spare magazine carrier, a stiff belt, kneepads, ear/eye protection, and 400 rounds of ammunition. If you have any questions about what to get, send me a text or an email, or give me a call. I can make recommendations based on your specific needs and may be able to provide something that you could use for the class in some cases.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 1 week before a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes canceled between a week and 48 hours of a class date will receive a 50% refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
What We'll Teach
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
This lesson will continue with the basics, including a very visual overview of what we call the “building blocks” or the fundamentals for accurate and safe shooting. Within this lesson, Michael Martin will explain the differences between the skills required for being a good “marksman” at the range, and the skills that might be required to save your life if you are ever the subject of a violent attack.
