Our course welcomes experienced individuals as well as anyone brand new to the world of firearms and concealed carry!

This class meets all requirements for your Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) and is designed to give students the knowledge, confidence, and mindset needed to be responsible, capable protectors.

Lunch and beverages are provided, and students are encouraged to come ready to learn this course covers a wide spectrum of key topics geared toward making you a safer, more prepared defender.

What You Need to Bring

50 rounds of ammunition for the firearm you will be shooting. We sell ammunition on site. It never hurts to call and confirm we have what you need!

Eye protection

Hearing protection

If you do not have a firearm, we provide firearms at no additional cost.

Course Details

Classroom instruction is held at our storefront in Higgins Lake, 9013 N Cut rd Roscommon, MI 48653.

Students will complete both the classroom portion and the live-fire qualification required by the State of Michigan

Michigan CPL Course

For Those Determined to Defend

This class will be held at the Oscoda Public Library and consists of 5 hours of in-class instruction followed by 3 hours of live-fire training. This course is nationally recognized and meets all requirements to obtain your Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).

Students should be prepared for a full, extensive day dedicated to building knowledge, confidence, and essential defensive skills. Our goal is to help you become a safer, more capable protector while ensuring a fun, professional, and safety-driven learning environment.

Be prepared for a demanding but rewarding day of learning and development. This course is designed to increase your skill level, sharpen your mindset, and boost your confidence with a firearm.

This class is designed to take your shooting skills to the next level. You will be conducting advanced pistol drills and key fundamentals, that will help you become more proficient with a handgun. This course is not a basic or entry level course. Safe handling and manipulation of a handgun should be known prior to selecting this course. Students will be required to bring a firearm, holster, ear protection, eye protection and a minimum of 200 rounds. We will be conducting both live-fire and non-live fire drills during class. You will receive safe and comprehensive training. Once completed you should have a better understanding on how to perfect and perform key fundamentals such as marksmanship, defensive shooting, shooting for speed and many more key training practices that will help you become proficient.

Notes: You do not have to be an expert to take this course.

One should know not to point or flag their firearm in an unsafe direction during class. This should be known prior to the course.

Don't over think it. This course is designed to help you. It's designed to develop your skills and give you a better understanding of how to operate your firearm, win in violence and build confidence with your carry.

You don't need to show up to the course dressed like a super soldier. Dress how you would dress every day. Carry what you're more likely to carry every day.

In this course we will discuss vital topics, that should help your church identify and understand critical threats. How to identify them and how to respond to them. Its is our mission at Guardian Defense, to help better equip and train local congregations. We do not charge for this course. We want to help you! You will gain excellent information as it pertains to Mass Shooters. You will learn key skills and fundamentals, both with firearms and developing an effective team to suit your church’s security needs. There will also be discussion on treating the wounded in the event of a mass shooting. Many churches are “sitting ducks” when it comes to the growing number of violent, disturbed individuals, that wish to do harm in our world today. Don’t be a victim and stay proactive in this discussion. Take personal responsibility, for your people and yourself! This course is free! It is hosted at Messiah Lutheran Church, in Roscommon MI. We ask that every church bring a snack to pass around. We will have coffee and some snacks as well! We ask that no more than 4 designated people, from each congregation attends this class. Michigan CPL Renewal Course

For Those Determined to Defend

This class is designed exclusively for active CPL holders who need to meet the State of Michigan requirements for CPL renewal. Whether you're seeking a legal refresher or a deeper understanding of defensive principles, this course keeps you current, confident, and compliant.

Join us for an extensive dive into concealed carry, home defense, defensive shooting, Michigan laws, and more! Our instructors deliver material in a clear, practical, and safety-driven format that benefits every level of experience.

You will leave for the range with the full class around 1:00 PM

2-Day Guardian Performance Pistol/Rifle Course

For Those Determined to Defend

The 2-Day Guardian Performance Pistol/Rifle Course is an intensive skill building experience designed for shooters who want to elevate their abilities with both pistol and rifle. This program merges our Performance Pistol Level 2 curriculum with a full Performance Rifle training day, delivering a complete, high-level progression of real-world shooting performance.

Students will be challenged mentally and physically through precision drills, movement based shooting, weapon manipulation, transitions, and controlled stress all conducted in a fun, safe, and professional training environment. This course pushes your limits, but never seeks to defeat you. Growth is the goal.

Day 1 Performance Pistol

Focused on advanced pistol performance, Day 1 follows all standards of our Level 2 curriculum.

Training Includes:

Precision under speed and pressure

Shooting on the move

Target transitions & visual processing

Recoil control & shot accountability

Efficient draws, reloads & manipulations

Dynamic shooting positions & movement

Mobility is required. Students must be capable of kneeling, lateral movement, and safe transitions between positions.

Day 2 Performance Rifle

Day 2 builds rifle capability from the ground up, focusing on performance, confidence, and real world application.

Accuracy at multiple distances

Reloads, malfunctions, and efficiency

Shooting from cover & unconventional positions
