What You'll Learn
The first portion of this course will be virtual (Zoom), due to Covid-19.
This course covers the following topics and skills: Basic Firearm Safety; Gun Storage; Gun Transportation; Parts of the Pistol; Parts of Ammunition; Firing Process; Pistol Operation; Malfunctions; Basic Pistol Shooting Fundamentals: Aiming, Grip, Stance, Breath Control, Trigger Control, Follow-Through; Range Safety and Etiquette; Range Commands; How to Select a Pistol; Pistol Maintenance; How to Practice at Home and at the Range. Certificate of Course Completion, which will meet the training requirement for some CCW permits (NOT MD).
Students must bring their laptop for the classroom portion of this class and leave all guns and ammunition in their vehicles until instructed to do otherwise. A Live Fire range is conducted at the range (TBA).

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.

Lane rental, eye and ear protection and targets will be covered by Onyx Training Group. Handgun rental and ammo purchase are paid by the student to other vendors.
