What You'll Learn
The Maryland Wear and Carry Course is a required certification for anyone wishing to carry a concealed firearm in Maryland. As a “Shall Issue” state, Maryland no longer requires applicants to demonstrate a "good and substantial reason" to carry.
Washington, D.C. also operates under a “Shall Issue” policy. Applicants who meet the legal criteria and have no disqualifying record are eligible for a concealed carry permit.
Both Maryland and D.C. offer permits to residents and non-residents, but each jurisdiction requires its own permit, as neither honors out-of-state concealed carry licenses.

Over 1 million students have taken the U.S. Concealed Carry Association’s course offerings across the nation. Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Fingerprints available at location: Classroom and Ranges are in separate locations. Information will be provided upon scheduling. (LIVE FIRE) Range fee is separate from class enrollment. Range admission varies from $20-$35. Please bring a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition for your qualifying firearm. If you do not currently have a firearm for your live fire qualification, one can be provided for an additional $20 in either 9mm or 22cal.(includes ammunition)
