What You'll Learn

This class will allow you to purchase a regulated firearm in Maryland. The Course Covers:

  1. State Firearm Law: Maryland firearm laws, regulated firearms, purchase/transfer procedures, permitted carrying locations, carry permit requirements, prohibited individuals, laws regarding minors, and permissible force levels and use of deadly force.

  2. Home Firearm Safety: General home handgun and firearm safety, preventing access to minors, proper firearm locking/storage, and use of safety devices.

  3. Handgun Mechanisms and Operation: Proper operation, safe handling, cleaning, maintenance, loading/unloading, and differences between revolvers and semi-automatics.

  4. Operation and Handling Demonstration: A practical demonstration of safe firearm operation, including a "live fire" component (firing not required beyond 15 yards).

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
