This Basic Handgun Safety Training in conjunction with the Maryland State Police (MSP) advisories will satisfy Maryland's requirements for Handgun Qualification License (HQL).

The Components of this class include:

1. State Firearm Law

2. Home Firearm Safety

3. Handgun Mechanisms and Operation

4. Operation and Handling Demonstration (live fire)

• Students must demonstrate their ability to load and "live fire" one round from no more than 15 yards distance *

Range day will take place at a local gun range and will discussed and scheduled upon the conclusion of the In-class instruction. We provide up to 10 rounds of ammunition for HQL, free rental of our firearm, and personal instruction from our Certified Instructors.

Unlike other HQL classes, we spend a whole hour (and shoot 50 rounds) conducting live-fire drills in order to fully teach our students how to use a handgun correctly, efficiently, and securely.

This course is designed to prepare and certify students for gun ownership in Maryland. Students are entitled to apply for their own HQL license after completing this course. Our trainees depart with a strong understanding of correct handgun operation, home firearm safety, shooting principles, and state firearm law after we've finished lectures and drills.

16 hours of instruction are required for the first Wear and Carry Permit application. A Qualified Handgun Instructor will deliver the authorized training, which will include state firearm laws, home firearm safety, handgun mechanics and operation, and a component where the applicant must show competency with and gun safety with a minimum accuracy score of 70%.

Each candidate must shoot a course of at least 40 rounds from a distance of no more than 15 yards while maintaining an accuracy rating of at least 70%. We shall take all necessary steps to create a secure and safe training environment.

16 hours of instruction will satisfy Maryland's requirements for Handgun Qualification License (HQL) and is required for the Wear and Carry Permit (CCW) application.

The approved training will be delivered by a Qualified Handgun Instructor and will cover State Firearm Laws, Home Firearm Safety, Basic Handgun Safety Training, Handgun Mechanics and Operation, and a component where the applicant must demonstrate competency with and gun safety with a minimum accuracy score of 70%.

Each applicant must maintain an accuracy rating of at least 70% while firing a course of at least 40 rounds from a distance of no more than 15 yards. In order to establish a secure and safe training environment, we will take all required measures.

The 8 hours of instruction needed to apply for the Maryland Wear and Carry Permit RENEWAL are satisfied by this course. Qualification in shooting is provided. A firearm and at least 50 rounds of ammo are required.
