What You'll Learn
The Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) Course is designed to give you the basic knowledge and skills needed to safely own and handle a handgun in Maryland. During the class, we’ll cover handgun safety, basic operation and handling, safe storage, Maryland firearm laws, and responsible firearm ownership.
The course also includes the required live-fire component, where you’ll have the opportunity to safely handle and fire a handgun under the supervision of an instructor. No prior firearms experience is necessary—we’ll walk you through the process and make sure you understand the fundamentals.
Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll receive the training documentation needed to continue the Maryland HQL application process.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 14 business days in advance of a class date in order to receive a partial refund. Classes cancelled less than 14 business days before the class will not be refunded.
