What You'll Learn
During these times of uncertainty, many of our friends, family, and acquaintances are choosing to exercise their Second Amendment rights for the first time.
This training class is open to anyone not legally prohibited from owning, possessing, or having access to firearms. Participating in and passing this training course does not guarantee you will be issued a HQL Permit in the state of Maryland, or any other state or jurisdiction. Permit issuance is solely at the discretion of the Maryland State Police. Initial permit training is 4 hours and renewal training is 4 hours and either can be accomplished in this training class,
In this Maryland firearms safety training course, students will receive instruction on firearm safety, handling, Maryland state firearm law, handgun parts and operation, and basic maintenance of a firearm. Additionally, a basic use-of-force lecture will be included. The Firearm’s Safety Training Course, for the Handgun Qualification License, shall consist of a minimum of four (4) hours of instruction and affirms the applicant’s safe operation of the firearm which requires firing at least one (1) round of ammunition. Archangel students will fire 20 rounds of ammunitions.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.

Taught exclusively by John Ayala a D.C., MD, VA and Utah Certified Firearms Instructor. STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: ·Students must bring a valid Driver’s License or State Issued ID to class with them for verification. ·Students must arrive on time and be present for the entire duration of class. WHAT'S INCLUDED: This class includes classroom instruction, range time and your Handgun Qualification License (HQL) training certificate. In addition, the cost of this class covers the use of a firearm, targets, ear protection and eye protection. Training is valid for 3 years and must be completed prior to submitting an application for a Handgun Qualification License. NOT INCLUDED: required digital LiveScan fingerprinting ($50-$65) and Maryland State license fee ($50.00). ****If you own a regulated firearm prior to October 1, 2013, you must apply for the Handgun Qualification License. However, you are exempt from the training component **** Students must provide their own ammo for range certification
