What You'll Learn
This is an introduction to firearms class. This class is for anyone new to firearms or has just purchased a new firearm that they need to get familiar with. In this class the students will learn the fundamentals of firearms, firearms safety, basic marksmanship, magazine changes, clearing malfunctions and other skills required for owning a firearm and will take students beyond the basic State requirements to receive their concealed carry permit. Students will learn to draw their firearm from the holster from concealment and put combat effective rounds on the target. As well as learning to draw properly from a holster students will learn firearms safety, basic marksmanship, magazine changes, malfunction clearing, and other firearm fundamentals.
GEAR NEEDED for this class:
400 rounds of quality factory FMJ ammunition 2 magazines (3 or more is better) Holster (quality holster, leather or Kydex recommended, NO SERPA or Race Gun holsters allowed, No “soft” one size fits all holsters allowed) Eye & Ear Protection (electronic ear pro recommended) Brimmed Hat Closed-toe Shoes Rain Gear (we shoot in rain unless there’s lightning) Sunscreen Bug Spray Thick Belt (gun belt recommended) Long Pants Water/Beverages Lunch Chair (something to sit on)
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
What We'll Teach
Self-Defense Firearms Basics
This lesson will introduce you to a wealth of information on different types of self-defense firearms including handguns, home defense shotguns, and the AR-15 platform, where Michael Martin provides easy to understand explanations of the common terms used so frequently. The goal of this lesson is to de-mystify what can sometimes feel like a topic reserved for experts.
