When someone suffers a life-threatening injury, the actions taken in the first few minutes can make the difference between life and death.
First Responder II: Bleeding Control is a hands-on trauma course designed to equip everyday citizens, firearms owners, hunters, first responders, security personnel, and anyone who wants to be better prepared with the knowledge and skills to control severe bleeding before professional medical help arrives.
Students will learn how to quickly recognize life-threatening hemorrhage, prioritize treatment, and confidently use proven bleeding control techniques based on modern Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) principles. Through practical demonstrations and hands-on application, participants will gain the confidence to respond effectively during medical emergencies at home, on the range, in the workplace, or in public.
Whether you're carrying a firearm, building a family emergency plan, or simply want to be prepared for the unexpected, this course provides practical skills that can save a life.
Topics Covered Scene safety and emergency priorities Recognizing life-threatening bleeding Types of bleeding and injury assessment Direct pressure techniques Proper tourniquet selection and application One- and two-handed tourniquet application Wound packing with gauze and hemostatic agents Treating junctional wounds Preventing shock and hypothermia Continued patient care until EMS arrives Hands-on practical exercises Who Should Attend This course is ideal for:
