My Biography
Modern Defense Dynamics was established to bring practical training to firearms instruction. With over 30 years of professional firearms experience, Troy Eberling and Brad Fisher combine relevant firearms instruction with a state-of-the-art firearms Simulator. The Simulator utilizes special firearms that look, feel, and function like the real thing. A variety of different targets include: Standard qualification targets, dueling trees, command shape targets, decision making targets, and interactive simulations. Each one is used to develop firearms safety, basic weapon handling, target identification, and advanced shooting skills. Troy graduated in 2005 with a degree in Criminal Justice. In 2007 he started a tactical gear retail company to bring practical equipment to the average citizen. Troy obtained his Federal Firearms License (FFL) in 2016 and took his tactical gear business to the next level. Troy began his career in Nuclear Security as an armed officer in 2008. After a decade and a half he continues in the nuclear field as an Armed Security Specialist where he is skilled in physical security, use of force in accordance to Iowa law, and anti-terrorism. Brad enlisted in the US Army shortly after 9/11, and deployed to Iraq in 2005. As a Calvary Scout, Brad specialized in urban warfare, close quarter combat, and light and heavy weapons. After leaving the Army, Brad spent over a decade as an armed officer and control station operator at a nuclear facility. Here, he became skilled in anti-terrorism techniques, vital area defense, multi-agency coordination, and use of force law. Troy and Brad utilize their experience, knowledge, and skills to pass on the most relevant and critical skills to students. They understand the best way to learn is to do. By minimizing “desk time”, they get students on their feet and guns in their hands. The simulator allows for practical instruction during active training. The simulator also allows for much more trigger time without worrying about the cost and availability of ammunition. This fact alone makes these classes an excellent value.
