What You'll Learn
This course will provide an understanding for the law-abiding citizen’s right to self-defense. The participants will develop skills and attitudes essential for the safe and effective use of a handgun for the protection of self and family. Further, coverage will be provided on mental awareness, how to avoid victimization, and mindset development for use of a firearm when faced with a life threatening encounter. This course will review basic gun safety rules for guns in the home, travel and concealed carry. Also covered will be the responsibility of firearm ownership laws, how to legally travel with a firearm and the justified use of lethal force. Students will be required to participate in classroom and firearms range activities and demonstrate basic live-fire handgun proficiency. There will also be USCCA simulations provided in the curriculum. This is an approved curriculum by the Illinois State Police and this course meets the first and second part of Illinois Concealed Carry Curriculum Mandates.
Registration includes: Range fees, training firearms rental, safety glasses and ear protection. Florida and Utah non-resident permit-to carry application and bonus materials available for discounted additional fees. We also have shooting park memberships available to continue your skills. **Non refundable registration deposit must be made to save your spot in the class. (You may change the date once without needing to repay the deposit.) Classes are scheduled every month, call for details at 618-629-3422 Ext 2 or 3
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
What We'll Teach
Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals with Simulations
This real-world self-defense scenario training is designed to improve your mindset and skills, regardless of experience level or background, in a safe and controlled environment. You can practice making split-second decisions, which will help you to understand the legal use of force. This is one of the most practical and effective ways to recognize when — or if — the use of deadly force is justified. Test your knowledge and learn from realistic situations that you could encounter in your daily life. Simulation training scenarios activate students’ mental and physical responses to mimic real self-defense scenarios, giving you a deeper understanding of how you’ll react under pressure.
