What You'll Learn
Understanding the Realities of Fighting Through Glass, Steel, and Barriers Vehicle Ballistics is the next level of training following AFD’s Vehicle Edge Defense class. While Vehicle Edge Defense focuses on fighting from and around a vehicle, Vehicle Ballistics explores how vehicles affect bullet performance, shot placement, and terminal effectiveness.
This hands-on class examines the realities of shooting through windshields, side windows, vehicle doors, and other common automotive barriers. Students will gain practical experience understanding how glass, metal, and other vehicle components can influence bullet trajectory, penetration, and performance.
Through live-fire exercises and instructor-led demonstrations, participants will develop a better understanding of the challenges associated with defensive firearm use around and through vehicles.
Topics Include: Ballistic performance through windshields and automotive glass Bullet behavior when encountering vehicle doors and body panels How automotive barriers affect bullet trajectory and penetration The challenges of engaging threats from inside or around a vehicle Practical, real-world applications of vehicle-related defensive shooting
