What You'll Learn
This is where you get a solid foundation. We start in the classroom. You'll learn the ins and outs of the AR-15: what its parts are, how to field strip and clean it, and how to choose the right optic for your needs. We'll cover the fundamental shooting positions and body mechanics you need to be effective before we hit the range. We'll get your rifle zeroed and run some basic drills. By the end of this course, you'll have fired 50 rounds of ammunition (included) and you'll know how to run your rifle safely and proficiently.
Cancellation Policy: Individuals registered for courses/private lesson at JCIGR are required to provide 72 hours notice in order to cancel and receive a full refund. 48 hours notice to reschedule course/private lesson will be charged a $10 fee and WILL NOT be refunded. 24 hour notice to reschedule course/private lesson will be charged a $50 fee and WILL NOT be refunded. What We'll Teach
AR-15 Fundamentals
This classroom and live-fire AR-15 Fundamentals course is designed to introduce responsible gun owners to the safe handling, proper maintenance, and effective use of AR-15-style rifles in the context of civilian home defense and defense.
Classroom topics include:
- Overview of basic AR-15 nomenclature and function
- Cleaning and maintenance
- Accessorizing the AR-15
Live-range topics include:
- How to safely and effectively operate an AR-15
- How to confirm zero
- How to improve skills and precision with an AR-15
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Doors will open 10 minutes before class starts and close 5 minutes after class starts. Students arriving 10 minutes late will need to reschedule for the next available class and will be charged a $50 rescheduling fee.
