What You'll Learn

This comprehensive course expands on the fundamentals covered in Basic Handgun, making it ideal for individuals seeking to refine their skills and increase their confidence in handgun handling. Lunch, range fees, and targets are included.

IMPORTANT: • Arrive a few minutes early so your personal firearm can be checked in • Leave all ammunition secured in your vehicle

We will begin with a range session focused on reinforcing range etiquette, safety protocols, and basic marksmanship techniques. Instruction will also cover key aspects of firearm manipulation, including how to properly clear malfunctions and perform safe loading and unloading procedures under pressure, improving your ability to quickly restore ammunition when needed.

Classroom instruction will cover several key topics, ammunition types, gear and gadgets, types of semi-automatic safety mechanisms, how to field strip a firearm, and cleaning.

Proper handgun maintenance is a vital responsibility for every firearm owner. Students will receive detailed, step-by-step instruction on how to field strip, clean, lubricate, and reassemble their specific firearm. The course will also provide expert guidance on recommended cleaning materials and techniques. Additionally, students will learn how to recognize signs of wear and detect potential mechanical issues to ensure their firearm remains in safe working condition. Each participant will receive a complimentary pistol cleaning kit to use during the course and take home for continued maintenance.

By the end of the class, students will develop a stronger sense of firearm responsibility, sharpen their marksmanship skills, and acquire hands-on knowledge to confidently operate and maintain their handgun—all while reinforcing essential safety practices.

Cancellation Policy: In registering for class, the student acknowledges they may receive text message reminders. Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date to receive a refund. Student cancellations will be assessed a 10% administration fee which will be deducted from the refund. Classes cancelled by students less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded. Students who do not show up to attend a class are not eligible for a refund but may be rescheduled if a future class is available. Students who do not attend all portions (which also includes any online learning components) of a class are not eligible for a refund but may arrange with an instructor to attend a future session if there is available class space.
