What You'll Learn
This comprehensive course expands on the fundamentals covered in Basic Handgun I and II, making it ideal for individuals seeking to further refine their skills by introducing more complex techniques for practical self-defense scenarios. Lunch, range fees, and targets are included.
Classroom instruction will cover several key topics, including the • Understanding a Handgun’s Action • Types of Semi-Automatic Safety Mechanisms • Stages of a Trigger Pull • Use of Non-Lethal Force Options • Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
The course concludes with a live-fire session at the range, emphasizing the reinforcement of range etiquette, safety procedures, and fundamental marksmanship skills. Students will also receive instruction on essential firearm manipulation techniques, including safely clearing malfunctions and executing efficient loading and unloading under pressure—enhancing their ability to quickly and safely restore ammunition when necessary, and shooting at increased distances.
By the end of the class, students will develop a stronger sense of firearm responsibility, sharpen their marksmanship skills, and acquire hands-on knowledge to confidently operate and maintain their handgun—all while reinforcing essential safety practices.
Cancellation Policy: In registering for class, the student acknowledges they may receive text message reminders. Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date to receive a refund. Student cancellations will be assessed a 10% administration fee which will be deducted from the refund. Classes cancelled by students less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded. Students who do not show up to attend a class are not eligible for a refund but may be rescheduled if a future class is available. Students who do not attend all portions (which also includes any online learning components) of a class are not eligible for a refund but may arrange with an instructor to attend a future session if there is available class space.

Bringing your personal handgun is strongly encouraged to help you become more familiar with the specific firearm you own. The classroom portion of the course will be held at: 521 Greenhouse Patio Drive NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144 The live-fire training will take place at: Governors Gun Club, 1005 Cobb Place Blvd NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144 Important: All classes that include range time require students to present a valid, state-issued photo ID.
