What You'll Learn
This course is designed for the average American citizen who has demonstrated a basic level of firearms proficiency and safety. It is intended for those who have successfully completed Basic and Defensive Handgun Skills, where foundational skills such as drawing and engaging from a belt-mounted holster were introduced.
Building upon the core concepts taught in Basic and Defensive Handgun Skills, this course introduces increased stress through timed drills and practical marksmanship exercises to further develop and refine the student's confidence, efficiency, and accuracy under pressure.
What You’ll Learn
- Practical Marksmanship Fundamentals
- Sight Picture and Target Acquisition Techniques
- Recoil Management
- Applied Marksmanship in Practical Scenarios
- Critical Shot Placement
- Malfunction Identification & Immediate Action Drills
- Remedial Actions and Situational Awareness
Students will engage in a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on drills, and live-fire exercises. The primary objective is to reinforce safe and effective deployment of a handgun from an outside-the-waistband (OWB) holster while delivering accurate, timely rounds on target in high-stress scenarios.
Note: This is NOT a concealed carry (CCW) course. All training is conducted from the OWB/Duty Belt position. This format enables students to build incremental proficiency in core shooting fundamentals without the added complexity of concealment-based draw techniques.
