ARMED "G" LICENSE ANNUAL REQUALIFICATIONS

The State of Florida requires that all Florida Security and Private Investigator “G” Licensed Armed Officers requalify once per year with the caliber and type of handgun that they carry on duty. Upon successful completion of the written and live-range portions of the 4-hour course, your Certificate of Firearms Proficiency will be reported to the Dept. Agriculture on your behalf.

As part of the annual firearms requalification requirements, the Class “G” licensee is allowed to make three (3) attempts at achieving a passing score of 70% or greater. Each of the three courses of fire shall consist of 48 rounds.

YOU CAN TAKE YOUR REQUAL AT ANY TIME DURING YOUR YEAR. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT TILL YOU ARE NOTIFIED OR IT IS CLOSE TO EXPIRATION.

Firearms must be standard duty firearms with belt-secured retention holster rigs. You cannot carry a gun of a different caliber than on which you qualify. Revolver shooters must qualify on a revolver even if it is a semi-auto caliber revolver. Allowed: .38 Special or .357 Magnum revolver, loaded with .38 Special only, in barrel length that is used on-duty; Semi-automatics in .380 ACP, 9×19, .40 S&W or .45 ACP only. Multiple-caliber requalifications are available for an extra fee.

The live-range portion is a 48-rd course of fire. It can be retaken twice that day, if necessary. FL Concealed Weapons and Firearms License Live-Fire Certification is available at the same time. Please note: No refunds. $25 rescheduling fee.
