DC Concealed Pistol License |DC Specific Law on Firearms & Self-Defense

Instructor-Led Live Virtual Course

This course designed for those who qualify for the DC 16-hour firearms safety training exemption (i.e. prior military or law enforcement experience).

"The Chief may, on a case by case basis, exempt a person from the requirements of ss 2336.1 and 2336.2 if the person submits evidence that he or she has received firearms training in the U.S. military or has otherwise completed firearms training conducted by a firearms instructor that, as determined by the Chief, is equal to or greater than that required by the Act."

All DC Concealed Pistol License applicants must be trained on District of Columbia law on firearms and self-defense. There are no exemptions for this requirement.

DMV CARRY’s DC Concealed Pistol License Training Course is conducted by NRA and USCCA Certified Instructors who have been approved by the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police to conduct and certify their firearms training curriculum.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO LIVE AMMUNITION allowed during the classroom portion of this training.

This course provides an overview of federal/state laws and permit process. Ultimately, it is the permit holder’s responsibility to stay up-to-date and in compliance with current laws and permit requirements.
