My Biography

Phil is a U.S. Navy Special Operations veteran, certified USCCA Firearms Instructor, and Verified Colorado CHP Instructor serving Colorado and Utah.

Phil founded Raven One Defense because he believes good training should make people feel more confident, more prepared, and more connected to the responsibility of owning or carrying a firearm. His approach is shaped by real-world experience, but centered on the student in front of him.

Every student brings a different story, comfort level, and reason for training. Phil’s goal is not to force everyone into the same mold, but to meet people where they are, build on what they already do well, and help them grow safely and responsibly.

Educator Safety & Preparedness is a safety-focused course for teachers, school staff, administrators, coaches, and education professionals who want practical training in responsible ownership, secure storage, emergency preparedness, trauma first aid awareness, de-escalation, and lawful decision-making.

This course is designed to help educators and school staff become safer, more responsible, and better prepared citizens while understanding the serious responsibilities that come with working around students, families, and school environments.

Course topics include responsible ownership mindset, secure storage around children and families, school policy boundaries, situational awareness, emergency planning basics, trauma first aid awareness, de-escalation, lawful decision-making, law enforcement interaction considerations, and what not to do unless properly authorized.

The goal is simple: safer educators, stronger schools, and better prepared communities.
