What You'll Learn
Is it Time to get your Renewed, This is the class for you.
Renewal of permits. Beginning July 1, 2025, C.R.S. 18-12-202.5 Requires an applicant renewing a permit to demonstrate competence with a handgun. And take a refresher class that must be held in person, be taught by a verified instructor, include instruction on changes to laws related to firearms, and requires a passing score of 70% on a live-fire exercise and 80% written exam. A refresher class must provide at least 2 hours of instruction, including the live-fire exercise (50 Rounds Minimum) and written exam. The act requires that the instructor be certified as a firearms instructor. and be verified by county sheriff.
Student will Receive and Email At least 24 Hours Prior to class With the exact Address, and any up dated Information you may need for the class. What you need to Know: • Bring Your Firearm (handguns only NO rifles.) Or be prepared to Rent one at the Range. • You will need at least 50 Round of ammo for your Firearm. • Bring Eye & hearing Protection. Or be prepared to Rent it at the Range. • You can bring food, snacks & Drink. You will need to clean up after your self • Dress appropriately No open toed shoes or low cut Shirts or Blouses. • Firearm MUST be in a case or Holster, And Unloaded.
This 4-hour course is broken up into the following course structure: ** Legal & Law – This section covers Colorado-specific laws related to concealed carry, self-defense, use-of-force regulations, and the legal responsibilities of gun owners. ** Firearm Safety Class – This portion focuses on the safe handling, storage, and operation of firearms, including best practices for responsible gun ownership. ** Written Exam - An open book 30 question written exam based on the class material. ** Live Fire Exercise - there is a scheduled live-fire exercise. ( you need 50 rnds Minimum) All the parts to the course need to be taken to get the needed certificate to take the county sheriff. Course is up to date with new July 1 2025 standards and content . 1. Note Firearms should be in a Holster or Pistol Case. 2. No live Ammunition is allowed in the classroom. 3. Firearms must be in good working condition 4. you may bring a lunch and or snacks. 5. Bring extra Magazine and / speed loaders if you have them. 6.Valid Colorado ID.
