My Biography
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” (Old Chinese proverb)
This philosophy was taught to David by his first martial arts instructor. In education, there is a related philosophy; you don’t truly learn something until you teach it to others.
These beliefs have become the cornerstone of a long circle of learning and teaching.
At the age of fourteen David became the youngest American Red Cross First Aid & CPR Instructor in the State of Florida, second youngest in the US. His diverse careers in: USMC, law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, high risk security and teaching continued to add to an ever growing number of subjects and skills in his repertoire. David has a bachelor degree in Human Resources Development, (with a minor in Psychology and Education). Combing real world experiences and education enables CO.S.H.E. to deliver the best of both learning environments.
He ran a successful training business in Florida for many years and is now opening Colorado Safety & Health Educators, LLC, bringing the culmination of over fifty plus years of education and experience to Colorado. David has achieved numerous instructor ratings in subjects including: self-defense, life saving skills, firearms, weapons, security and police training, as well as youth education and adult learning. In addition to having been a junior high school teacher, David has been an instructor, adjunct professor, or facilitator for numerous companies, educational institutions, government agencies, and civic groups.

Upon successful completion of this course the participant will be given a certificate that they can present to the sheriff of the Colorado county they reside in to apply for the Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit. This course will also introduce the participant to the basic concepts of use and safe gun handling that they can build upon later.
This class will give the learner an understanding of how to stay safe by employing the concepts of conflict aviodance through situational awarenessand and developing a self-defense mind set.
This mini-class focuses specifically on how to plan, start and train a safety ministry. Bring water, note-taking materials and an open mind. There will be a question and answer period at the end.
You will learn theories of using a firearm for defensive purposes. This is different then just how to shoot.
This class will introduce the learner with concepts of defensive shooting as opposed to marksmanship. The class will focus on alternative methods for shot alignment. Inert Firearms will be provided. Please do not introduce live firearms or ammunition into the class. Sign up and show up for a $5.00 discount. Five dollars cash will be refunded to you the night of the training.
This course goes beyond the "how to put a tourniquet on". Upon successful completion of the course the student will be issued a 2 year certification. This is an often sought after course. Register today. Space is limited.
