John Perez is a Concealed Carry and Home Defense Certified Firearms Instructor, and Certified to teach Emergency First Aid Fundamentals, Countering The Mass Shooter Threat, Marksmanship Simplified: Foundations of Handgun Coaching, and Children's Firearm & Safety Fundamentals with the USCCA and is an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor. John is also Certified as a Range Safety Officer with both the USCCA and NRA, and a California Department of Justice Certified Instructor permitted to administer a Firearm Safety Certificate . Santa Monica Firearm Safety Training offers private and group lessons at various locations throughout Los Angeles County. John was introduced to shooting around the age of 5 by his father, an avid outdoorsman. The pair would make regular trips to the Mojave Desert and practice with a Ruger 10/22. John would also grow up to be an avid outdoorsman. As a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, John trekked to the summit of Mt. Whitney by the age of 12 and every other major summit in California over the years. This taught John a valuable life lesson early on that, courage isn't having the strength to go on, it is going on when you don't have the strength. As well as consistent training and prep will keep you safe in most situations. Which is why John is also passionate about emergency preparedness. As a member of C.E.R.T and a Technician Class ham radio operator for over 18 years John teaches, your personal safety and that of your loved ones is solely in your hands.
