What You'll Learn
This is the state-mandated 8-hour renewal course for current Riverside County CCW permit holders. Taught by Dr. Rehan Tahir — PhD, CSCS, CA DOJ Certified CCW Instructor, CA POST CCW Tactics Instructor.
Renewal applicants attend Day 2 of the course alongside initial applicants. Course covers: dry-fire and holster draw instruction, live-fire qualification, non-lethal self-defense, instructor-guided simulations, mental wellness, California legal supplement, and written examination.
Effective January 1, 2026: Your renewal application and CCW Qualification Certificate must be submitted to Riverside County within 90 days of your permit's expiration. Start the renewal process at least 6 months before expiration.
Live-fire qualification: 7, 10, and 15 yards · 6 rounds each · 70% to pass · two attempts allowed.
Holster requirement: Kydex only, make/model-specific. Strong-side or appendix (AIWB) draw only.
What to bring:
- Your registered handgun(s) — up to 6 on your permit. First firearm included in course fee. Additional firearms: +$30 for 2nd, +$30 for 3rd. Firearms after the 3rd are free.
- Kydex holster for each firearm
- 100 rounds of ammunition per firearm
- Your own eye and ear protection
- Targets and range fees are included

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
