What You'll Learn
This is a state-mandated 16-hour course required for first-time Riverside County CCW applicants. Taught by Dr. Rehan Tahir — PhD, CSCS, CA DOJ Certified CCW Instructor, CA POST CCW Tactics Instructor.
Course covers all CA SB 2 required topics: firearm safety, legal use of force, California carry laws, prohibited places, mental wellness, and non-lethal self-defense. Includes instructor-guided simulations, dry-fire and holster draw instruction, live-fire qualification, and written examination.
Live-fire qualification: 7, 10, and 15 yards · 6 rounds each · 70% to pass · two attempts allowed · all shots in the green zone · not timed.
Holster requirement: Kydex only, make/model-specific. Strong-side or appendix (AIWB) draw only. No leather, universal, or off-body holsters accepted. What to bring:
- Your registered handgun(s) — up to 6 on your permit. First firearm included in course fee. Additional firearms: +$30 for 2nd, +$30 for 3rd. Firearms after the 3rd are free.
- Kydex holster specifically made for each firearm
- 100 rounds of ammunition per firearm
- Your own eye and ear protection
- Targets and range fees are included
You must be able to safely handle, manipulate, and shoot your firearm before attending. This is not a beginner's class.

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
