What You'll Learn

Initial 16-Hour CCW Certification Course

Meets & Exceeds Riverside County and California State Requirements

Effective January 1, 2024, this course fulfills and exceeds the 16-hour training requirement mandated by both the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the State of California for applicants seeking a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Permit.

This two-day program is split into two 8-hour sessions and includes both classroom instruction and a live-fire qualification. Students must demonstrate the ability to safely and effectively draw from concealment, engage targets from multiple distances, and achieve a minimum passing score of 80%. Safe firearm handling and manipulation will be assessed throughout the qualification.

Course Breakdown

Duration: 16 Hours (Classroom + Range Time)

Format: 2 Consecutive Days

Maximum Firearms Allowed on CCW: 6

Course Content Includes:

Firearm Safety & Pistol Fundamentals California Firearms Laws Concealed Carry Mindset & Responsibility Methods & Principles of Concealed Carry Legal Use of Force & Aftermath

Eligibility & Requirements:

Firearms to be listed on CCW (Max 6; $5 fee per firearm beyond the first two) No major modifications; red dot optics permitted 18 rounds per handgun (no steel-cased ammo) Quality holster (IWB/OWB – Kydex recommended) Prohibited holsters: ankle, shoulder, Serpa, pocket Rigid gun belt (leather or nylon) At least 2 magazines per firearm Proper range attire required

All firearms must be transported in a locked, secure container.

Do NOT arrive with a loaded or concealed firearm.

All weapons will be inspected at registration. Ensure they are unloaded.

Live Fire Qualification Standards:

Millennia Defense offers live-fire shooting qualifications for select California CCW applicants.

Riverside County CCW Qualification

Students will complete a live-fire qualification using a standard B-27 target.

Course of Fire:

6 rounds per stage Distances: 15 yards, 10 yards, and 7 yards Each handgun used for qualification must be fired and scored

Passing Requirement: Students must score 70% or higher with each handgun used for qualification.

After successfully passing the shooting qualification, students will receive a completed qualification form.

LAPD CCW Qualification

Students will complete a live-fire qualification using an NRA standard B-27 target.

First Firearm:

72 total rounds 24 rounds at 3 yards 24 rounds at 5 yards 24 rounds at 7 yards

Passing Requirement: Students must score 70% or higher at each distance within the 7-ring of the B-27 target.

Students must also safely load, unload, and reload their handgun during the course of fire.

Additional Firearms:

20 total rounds per additional firearm 10 rounds at 5 yards 10 rounds at 7 yards Passing score remains 70% at each distance within the 7-ring

Important: This course is a required training component of the CCW process but does not replace the application process with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. You must submit your CCW application either before or after completing this training.

Expand Your Carry Options with an Arizona Non-Resident CCW

By obtaining your Arizona Non-Resident Concealed Carry Permit, you can legally carry in 37 states—in addition to your California CCW.

This includes neighboring states such as Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico, providing broader legal protection and greater flexibility while traveling.

Arizona Non-Resident CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) permits are available as an optional add-on at checkout.

To apply, Arizona requires the following:

A Safe Handling Certificate (provided by us) Two fingerprint cards (provided by us) A completed application form (provided by us)

The Arizona CCW is valid for five years. Please note that Arizona only accepts payment by cashier's check or money order.

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
