What You'll Learn

The class is conducted over two consecutive days. The first evening, students will be in the classroom, learning the fundamentals of firearm safety & basic use of handguns. The second day students will be on the range shooting semiautomatics in .22, .380 9mm & 45 calibers as well as revolvers in.38 special. HANDGUN SAFETY & SHOOTING BASICS- Why you should know how to safely handle a gun; Revolver & semiautomatic: What’s the difference & which is for you?; 4 Universal Safety Rules; Shooting fundamentals- grip, stance, trigger control, sight picture; demystifying ammo; Safely storing & transporting a handgun; Personal protection gear THINGS TO CONSIDER-Selecting & purchasing a firearm; Going to the range & what to expect; Importance of practice; Legal ramifications
