California CCW Permit 16 Hour Renewal Course
Participants are required to bring the following: ID/ Note taking material (optional) Weapons your qualifying with (up to 3 weapons) 10 rounds per weapon (bring additional ammo if needed) 2 magazines per weapon Eye & Hearing protection
The California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Permit Initial Course is designed to meet the Initial training requirements established by both the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the California Department of Justice. This course is specifically tailored for individuals who already completed the inital process of applying for their CCW Permit and now have to take the mandated 16-Hour course to carry a concealed pistol, revolver, or other firearm within the State of California.
Students will receive comprehensive instruction in firearm safety, marksmanship, and responsible handling practices, as well as a detailed review of California firearm laws and regulations. Emphasis is placed on understanding the legal responsibilities of carrying a concealed weapon, recognizing potential threats, and applying effective situational awareness strategies.
Key topics include:
California firearm laws and legal updates relevant to CCW holders
Safe handling, storage, and transportation of firearms
Fundamentals of marksmanship and defensive shooting techniques
Conflict avoidance, situational awareness, and use-of-force considerations
Responsibilities of CCW permit holders in both public and private settings
Participants will complete a live-fire qualification to demonstrate safe and effective firearm use. Successful completion of the course requirements and live-fire component will earn each participant a Concealed Carry Training Certificate of Completion, which can be submitted to the appropriate County Sheriff’s Department to satisfy the mandatory training requirements for CCW permit renewal.
This course not only fulfills legal requirements but also reinforces the skills and judgment necessary to carry a concealed firearm safely, responsibly, and confidently in the State of California.

This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Prado's Initial CCW Classes are only being offered one weekend a month. The second weekend of every month will be offered. YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS IN ORDER TO COMPLETE CLASS. Both days take place from 8AM-5PM Students will have a lunch period given to go pickup food or eat in the classroom,
