LEOSA QUALIFICATION

LEOSA / HR-218 Annual Firearms Qualification is a dedicated certification service engineered specifically for qualified retired and separated law enforcement officers residing in California.

Operating under the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) of 2004 and the Improvements Act of 2010 (18 U.S.C. § 926B & 926C), this course provides a fast, streamlined path to fulfilling your mandatory annual live-fire requirements, granting you the legal authority to carry a concealed firearm across all 50 states and U.S. territories.

As a profound thank-you to our brothers and sisters who served as protectors of our communities, we offer this qualification service completely FREE of tuition (students are only responsible for the live range fee).

Credentialing & Credentials Our line is staffed by California CCW Certified Instructors, B.S.I.S. Instructors, and NRA-Certified Firearms Instructors. If your agency requires its own internal course of fire for retirees, our instructional staff is fully authorized and equipped to guide you through your agency-mandated qualification parameters.

Upon successful completion of the course of fire, you will be issued a signed Weapons Qualification Card. When carried alongside your valid, agency-issued retired LEOSA ID, this provides the official, legal proof of compliance required to carry nationwide.

Standard Qualification Metrics

If you do not have a specific agency-dictated course of fire, you will run our standard state-compliant course of fire:

Primary Firearm Qualification (First Weapon):

Course of Fire: 72 total rounds split equally across three distances.Distances: 24 rounds fired without a time limit at 3 yards (9 feet), 5 yards (15 feet), and 7 yards (21 feet).

Target Standard: NRA standard B-27 target, provided.

Passing Threshold: 70 percent minimum score at each distance (at least 17 of 24 rounds must score strictly within the 7-ring).

Handling Criteria: Students must safely load, unload, and execute reloads during the qualification.

Subsequent Firearm Qualifications (Additional Weapons):

Course of Fire: 20 total rounds split equally across two distances.

Distances: 10 rounds fired at 5 yards and 10 rounds fired at 7 yards.Passing Threshold: a minimum score of 70 percent at each distance (7 out of 10 rounds within the 7-ring of a B-27 target).

What You Must Bring

Your official, agency-issued Retired/Separated Law Enforcement ID card.

The specific handgun(s) you intend to list on your qualification card.

All necessary support gear, high-quality eye protection, and electronic hearing protection.

Factory ammunition (at least 75 rounds for your primary gun and 25 rounds for each additional weapon).
