What You'll Learn
Defensive Pistol: Level 1 – HOLSTER SKILL DEVELOPMENT is a specialized, mechanics-driven masterclass engineered to build a fast, safe, and highly intuitive draw from concealment. In a defensive encounter, distance is safety and time is life.
This course focuses on the objective standard of drawing from the holster to an accurate first shot in under 2 seconds.
By isolating the physical components of the draw stroke, we strip away wasted movement to build true consistency under pressure.
The Focus: Efficiency Over Speed True speed is simply the economy of motion. This class relies heavily on intensive dry-practice micro-drills and precise movement critique. Our instructors analyze your draw frame by frame to identify and eliminate hitching, extra steps, or unnecessary body mechanics that slow you down.
You won't just practice drawing; you will rebuild your presentation from the ground up to make it entirely subconscious and razor-sharp.
What You Will Master The Sub-2-Second Standard: Breaking down the timeline of a critical incident to consistently achieve a clean, accurate first shot from concealment under the 2-second mark.
Concealment Garment Clearing: Developing reliable, explosive techniques for clearing everyday cover garments (shirts, jackets, vests) without snagging.
Biomechanical Efficiency: Minimizing muzzle dip, excess movement, and "fishing" to establish the shortest path from the holster to the target.
Early Sight Acquisition: Learning to track your sights and prep the trigger dynamically as the gun meets your line of sight, allowing for an immediate, stable press.
The Secure Re-Holster: Mastering safe, deliberate, and non-visual indexing back into the holster to ensure absolute safety after a threat is neutralized.
Who Is This For? This course is open to shooters who have a solid handle on basic handgun safety and marksmanship but want to safely transition to working from a holster. It is an absolute necessity for modern concealed-carry permit holders to realize that a defensive firearm is useless if they cannot deploy it effectively in a split second.
Gear Requirements Your everyday carry semi-automatic handgun. A high-quality, rigid holster (IWB or OWB) designed specifically for your firearm, securely retaining the weapon. No soft nylon, floppy leather, or generic click-retention holsters for safety reasons. The sturdy belt you normally wear for carrying. Everyday concealment clothing.

Defensive Shooting Fundamentals - Level 1
Over 1 million students have taken the U.S. Concealed Carry Association’s course offerings across the nation. The Defensive Shooting Fundamentals class can be taken by anyone of any skill level. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced shooter, you will walk away from this course a better protector of yourself and your loved ones.
You will learn the concept of balancing speed and precision to begin the course, understanding your individual limits, the importance of accurate hits to target, and ability to quickly engage with a target.
