What You'll Learn
559CCW provides California and Arizona Concealed Carry Permit training for residents of Fresno, Madera, Merced, Tulare, and Kings County. This multi-state course fulfills the training requirements for both California and Arizona concealed carry permits, giving qualifying permit holders reciprocity recognition in up to 35+ states depending on current state laws and eligibility.
Class begins at 9:00 AM at 1620 Church Ave., Sanger, CA 93657. This is a classroom instruction day only. There will be no live-fire qualification on this day.
You do not need to own a firearm to attend. No firearms or ammunition are permitted in the classroom. Please leave them secured at home.
This course covers California and Arizona concealed carry laws, use-of-force standards, prohibited locations under SB2, civil and criminal liability, safe storage requirements, situational awareness, conflict avoidance, and the responsibilities that come with carrying a firearm in public. Students will also review firearm safety principles and defensive mindset fundamentals required by state law.
The California Initial course is 16 hours total, including 8 hours in person and 8 hours of online self-paced coursework. Renewal courses are also available. The final exam is multiple choice and serves as a knowledge review of the course material.
Live-fire qualification is scheduled separately after classroom requirements are completed. You may qualify with up to 6 legally registered firearms. Bring 50 rounds for up to 3 firearms (100 rounds if qualifying with 4–6), plus eye and ear protection. Steel core, steel jacketed, or bi-metal ammunition is not allowed at Fresno Rifle & Pistol Club.
Certificates are issued after completing classroom and live-fire requirements.

What We'll Teach
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
This lesson will continue with the basics, including a very visual overview of what we call the “building blocks” or the fundamentals for accurate and safe shooting. Within this lesson, Michael Martin will explain the differences between the skills required for being a good “marksman” at the range, and the skills that might be required to save your life if you are ever the subject of a violent attack.
