Concealed carry classes developed by the USCCA offer a lot of value to new and experienced gun owners! Each training allows students to develop an in-depth understanding of concealed carry while improving their skills as protectors.

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals Curriculum

This concealed carry training covers:

  • Handgun basics and shooting fundamentals
  • Understanding how to avoid conflict and awareness of your surroundings
  • The psychology of violent encounters
  • The legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath)
  • Home security and home defense
  • Includes a gear and gadget guide that can help students concealed carry more effectively

The full training course meets the requirements for obtaining a concealed carry permit or license in the vast majority of states across the U.S. Since each state's concealed carry permit requirements differ, we always encourage students to confirm with their instructor that this training will meet the requirements of their specific state.

Handgun Basics

The very first concept taught in this course is the four universal safety rules of firearms. From there, you'll learn important fundamentals like the procedures involved in properly clearing semi-automatic handguns and revolvers, different types of firearm platforms such as shotguns and AR's, non-lethal ...defense weapons like tasers and pepper spray, the intricacies of revolvers, and additional safety considerations to be be aware of should the worst happen.

Benefits of a Concealed Carry Permit

USCCA classes not only educate students on concealed carry, firearms basics, and self-defense but also go beyond what's legally required to obtain a concealed carry permit. State terminology may differ when it comes to a concealed carry weapons permit (CCW), Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, or concealed carry license, so we always encourage students to contact a local instructor for more details.

Mini-Class

Build a Home Protection Plan

For many, the home is mistakenly considered an impenetrable fortress where guards can be let down and an awareness of surroundings is no longer necessary, but that is simply not the case. This class teaches you the importance of situational awareness through the color codes of awareness, how conflict avoidance benefits you at home, and how vital it is to be proactive versus the risks of living reactively.

What is a MINI-CLASS?

A USCCA Mini-Class is a shorter, in-person session which is dedicated to a singular discipline. This is perfect for those who are just starting out with their training, or those who are looking for a refresher on specific topics. Mini-Classes are modules directly pulled from the USCCA's primary “Fundamentals” curriculums and taught by Certified Instructors.
