Carrying a spare magazine is a great idea. Just remember to carry that magazine someplace accessible. The best place for the spare magazine is on your off-side hip, just a bit behind the center line. This location makes for very fast and direct access during a reload. Some viewers have asked about carrying spare ammo on the same side as the holster. In my estimation, reaching across your body takes longer, is more difficult, and makes for a slower, less precise reload.

Your “Other” Strong Side

Carrying spare ammo on your other strong side means you have a direct line right to the pistol when it comes time to change magazines. If you carry a revolver, the same is true with your speedloader.
