I have been around long guns all my adult life for hunting. About 20 years ago I decided to learn about hand guns, with the help of firearm dealers I acquired a couple and began shooting at a range. I enjoy target shooting and compare it to playing golf with the bullseye the hole. I initially subscribed to a half dozen firearm magazines and began to acquire knowledge about firearms in general and the huge financial liability and psychological issues that go along with defending yourself. This led me to joining USCCA for legal insurance and discovered "Concealed Carry," that publication surpasses all other firearm periodicals on the market. Contrary to what many believe, I do not carry daily partly because I live in an outlying area with virtually no crime and because of the psychological issues and financial liability that comes with trying to protect yourself. I am almost willing to take a bullet myself when not protecting family than put up with the ramifications of being involve in a shooting. Our crooked legal system including prosecutors, judges, and police who jump to conclusions and want a win make it hard to have a positive outcome in a defensive situation. I realize that USCCA is there for me and that is comforting and I plan on on always maintaining firearms and read every issue from cover to cover. Keep up the good work. You provide education and protection and have helped me over the years.
