USCCA Statement on The Covenant School Massacre

West Bend, WI – Tim Schmidt, Chairman and Co-Founder of  The U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), issued the following statement in response to the horrific shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, that claimed the lives of three students and three adults.

“This is a heartbreaking tragedy.  We grieve for the lives lost and the families impacted by these evil acts. We are clearly facing a mental health crisis with horrific consequences.

Rather than repeat talking points already published across the media, the USCCA is going to actively continue working on helping Americans protect themselves, their loved ones, and their communities. We’re also continuing the conversation to build real action plans to harden America’s schools. We are committed to this, and we’ll be working with other industry leaders as well. Children are our most precious asset, but they are also our most vulnerable. It is our responsibility to protect them.

Now is the time to stand with the Nashville community, provide resources, and pray. There will be a time and place for political and policy debates in the days ahead.”
