USCCA Member Sets The Record Straight on Misleading Attacks
West Bend, WI – The U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) is setting the record straight regarding recent misformation pushed by some online as it pertains to one of its members. The USCCA is committed to ensuring the marketplace and its consumers have the most accurate information. With an unwavering commitment to member privacy, the organization obtained explicit approval from its member Alan Colie before publicly addressing specific details about his case.
Mr. Colie has been involved in a publicized legal matter in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Though he was found not guilty of the most serious charges, it remains an ongoing legal matter, which is why the USCCA generally does not comment on cases involving its members. But contrary to misinformation spread by competitors, the USCCA is making clear that it has never dropped coverage or denied the member’s claim, and offers its members the opportunity to choose the qualified attorney they believe will best represent them. This position was affirmed by Mr. Colie today as the USCCA maintains its unwavering support of his self-defense case.

Dear Tim,
I want to address criticism that the USCCA has received about me and the attorney I chose for my case.
I am a member in good standing with the USCCA and continue to be. With the USCCA, I can have the attorney of my choice. I know I could have requested that the USCCA pay for a private practice criminal defense attorney for my case.
I chose Attorney Pouilliard because he is a great attorney who believed in me and believed in my case. Yes. he’s a public defender, and he fought for me and won.
I am glad that I have the choice and wouldn’t change anything about my representation.
The USCCA stood by me and continues to stand by me, and I thank them for that.
