New Hampshire Joins Growing List of States to Pass Constitutional Carry Laws
WEST BEND, WI – It is now legal to carry a concealed loaded gun in New Hampshire without a license, according to a report by The Concord-Monitor on Wednesday. Republican Governor Chris Sununu signed “constitutional carry” legislation into law Wednesday morning, his first signing since taking office in early January.
“With New Hampshire on board, there are now twelve states that allow ‘Constitutional carry,’” said Tim Schmidt, the Founder & President of the United States Concealed Carry Association. “States that prioritize freedom realize that if self-defense truly is a natural-born right, and the Second Amendment truly affirms that natural-born right, you shouldn’t have to ask the government for permission to exercise it. We congratulate the Governor and the people of New Hampshire in securing their rights to constitutional carry.”
Constitutional carry, with no permit required, is spreading rapidly throughout the United States, with New Hampshire becoming the 12th to enact such a policy. Republican Governor Chris Sununu signed “constitutional carry” legislation into law Wednesday morning, his first signing since taking office in early January. The new law makes the concealed carry license optional, instead of mandatory. Similar efforts are happening in states all across the country regarding different aspects of gun-rights legislation, such as the effort in Florida to end gun-free zones in many areas.
