In 2018 the number of concealed carry permit holders rose to more than 18 Million in the US while a new FBI Report shows a .2 percent drop in violent crime. President and Founder of the US Concealed Carry Association Tim Schmidt joins Lars Larson to discuss the correlation on his national radio show.
From the FBI’s press release:
“After two consecutive years of increases, the estimated number of violent crimes in the nation decreased 0.2 percent in 2017 when compared with 2016 data, according to FBI figures released today. Property crimes dropped 3.0 percent, marking the 15th consecutive year the collective estimates for these offenses declined.
According to the United States Concealed Carry Association, who educates and trains responsibly armed Americans, there are now some 18 million with permits, up from 11 million four years ago.
Schmidt said, “This new FBI report gives us even more reason to believe that responsibly armed Americans have a positive effect on the level of crime in the United States.”
