This is a state required 15 hour New Mexico Department of Public Safety Concealed Carry Handgun Course. Attendance to this class is required in order to apply for the New Mexico Conceal Carry Permit. Successful completion of this mandatory 15 hour course will result in a certificate you can send with your application to the NMDPS Concealed Carry Unit in Albuquerque to obtain your permit to carry.
"Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals," is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self defense. The course is a complete guide to understanding conflict avoidance & situational awareness; handgun, shotgun, AR-15, and ammunition basics; defensive shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training. To successfully complete this course, you must view the introduction and all lessons, and you must achieve a score of 80-percent or higher on all quizzes. Pass a qualification.

This class is a two hour basic hand gun class that focuses on loading, make ready, shoot, and unloading safely. Participants at the end of this class should be able to do these tasks effectively and safely.

I prefer if you already have the suggested equipment that you bring them so I can show you how to use your own stuff. If you do not have many or any of the "required" equipment, I will have stuff for you to borrow.
