What You'll Learn
This class is also sometimes called "Conflict Resolution" or "Conflict De-Escalation." This 4-hour, instructor-led course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively prevent, recognize, and manage crisis situations using verbal and non-physical intervention techniques as the primary option, or safe, non-violent physical techniques (e.g., control holds, restraint) as a last resort. The training emphasizes early identification of behavioral indicators, communication strategies for de-escalation, and safe, professional responses to individuals in crisis. Participants will learn how to reduce risk, maintain control of situations, and promote positive outcomes while ensuring the safety of all parties involved.
The course is designed for law enforcement personnel, security personnel, protective services professionals, medical personnel, social services personnel, and staff who regularly interact with the public, equipping them with proven conflict management techniques, situational awareness, crisis communication strategies, and non-violent physical techniques consistent with industry best practices and legal standards.
Cancellation Policy: If a student must cancel, paid tuition may be credited to a future class (the same or a different one) if at least 48 hours notice of cancellation is provided (except under emergency or exigent circumstances 48 hours notice is not required).
