Thinking of self-defense in your home with an AR-15? Just bought an AR-15 and want to know more?
Before you leave you will understand how the AR15 operates, how to safely unload and clear the rifle of any ammunition, and if this is the firearm for you to have as your self-defense firearm in your home.
We discuss optics, sights, flashlights, slings and ammunition options. This is your opportunity to put your hands on different options to personalize your AR to match your needs. We will have examples of different AR setups to show and tell.
On the range we focus on: • Fundamentals of AR-15 marksmanship • Zero verification • Efficient operation of an AR-15 • How to improve skills and precision with an AR-15 • Specifically designed for training at 5-10 yards, the average distance of self-defense incidents
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 14 days in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 14 days before the class will not be refunded.
What We'll Teach
AR-15 Fundamentals
This classroom and live-fire AR-15 Fundamentals course is designed to introduce responsible gun owners to the safe handling, proper maintenance, and effective use of AR-15-style rifles in the context of civilian home defense and defense.
Classroom topics include:
- Overview of basic AR-15 nomenclature and function
- Cleaning and maintenance
- Accessorizing the AR-15
Live-range topics include:
- How to safely and effectively operate an AR-15
- How to confirm zero
- How to improve skills and precision with an AR-15
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
For the class, you will need an AR style rifle with a sling, an extra magazine, and 75-100 rounds.
