What You'll Learn
AR-15 BASICS – Jenks, Oklahoma Objective: To familiarize the participant with the AR-15 platform.
Class Description: This course gives new owners and those unfamiliar with the AR-15 platform a basic orientation to the rifle. Class time will be spent between the classroom and range.
Topics: • Safety discussion • History and terminology of the AR-15 • Cycle of operations and malfunctions • Field stripping and maintenance • Outfitting the platform • Loading/unloading procedures • How to zero
Required Equipment: • Eye and ear protection • Carbine in AR platform • 3 magazines recommended • 500 rounds of .223/5.56MM (ammunition is available for purchase while supplies last) • Appropriate range attire (closed-toe shoes, long pants, and long shirt recommended): iron sight or red dot optics recommended (no high-power scopes or LPVO's in this course) Sling is required in this course.
Optional: • Magazine pouch • Baseball hat (strongly recommended) Most equipment can be rented or purchased from Frontier Justice. A limited number of AR-15 rifles are available to rent for this class.

Cancellation Policy: If you have scheduled a training that ends up not working for your schedule and you need to reschedule or cancel, please contact our training staff as soon as possible. Students may reschedule & receive credit towards another training opportunity within the same calendar year with approval from Frontier Justice. For any cancellations received more than 3 weeks ahead of the scheduled training, a 50% refund will be offered. If cancelling less than 3 weeks from the scheduled training, no refund will be offered. We will NOT apply retroactive discounts or sales prices.
What We'll Teach
AR-15 Shooting Basics
Instructor-led range time including safety essentials, confirmation of zero, and use/operation of an AR-15; students will work on drills that incorporate dry-fire and live fire with kinesthetic alignment, mechanical offset (and the application of hold over), along with the balance of speed and precision shooting.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
If shooting an Optic on your rifle, please attempt to have it zeroed prior to coming to class. Sling is required for this course.
