What You'll Learn
Competitive shooting is one of the most effective ways to sharpen your skills, build confidence, and measure your growth as a protector. Intro to Competitive Shooting is designed for everyday shooters who want to step into competition safely, confidently, and with a clear understanding of how these skills translate to real‑world readiness.
This class builds on the discipline you developed in Concealed Carry and the mechanics you refined in Fundamental Mastery and Performance Pistol or Rifle then shows you how to apply those skills under time, pressure, and movement.
You’ll learn the fundamentals of competition while also seeing how each principle strengthens your ability to protect your family:
Match Flow & Rules — Understanding how stages work teaches you to think ahead, plan, and make decisions under pressure — the same mental discipline required in real‑world encounters.
Gear Setup — Learning efficient gear placement builds consistency and reduces fumbling, which directly improves your real‑world draw and reloads.
Stage Planning & Strategy — Reading a stage trains your brain to assess environments, identify priorities, and choose the safest, smartest path — skills that matter far beyond the range.
Movement & Efficiency — Learning to move with purpose, maintain balance, and control your firearm under motion builds the physical confidence protectors need.
Accuracy & Accountability — Competition reinforces that every shot matters — a principle that carries even greater weight in defensive situations.
Performing Under the Timer — The buzzer creates stress that exposes weaknesses and builds composure, helping you stay calm and deliberate when it counts.
This class isn’t about trophies or bragging rights — it’s about becoming more capable, more disciplined, and more accountable. Well… maybe just a little bit of bragging. Every skill is taught with the same mission that guides all of Shepherds Defense Group:
Competition sharpens the protector, not for sport alone, but for readiness, responsibility, and the courage to stand prepared.
Whether you want to shoot your first USPSA, Steel, 3 gun, or 2‑Gun match, this class gives you the knowledge, confidence, and purpose to step onto the range and further into your role as a protector with clarity.
