What You'll Learn
Massachusetts Basic Firearm Safety Course (LTC-007 / FID Certification)
Get your Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification (FID) card with this comprehensive, state-approved training course.
Developed in strict alignment with Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L. C.140, §131P), this official USCCA curriculum fulfills all state requirements to ensure you leave the classroom confident, responsible, and fully prepared. This intensive course features 6 hours of interactive classroom presentation and 2 hours of dedicated, hands-on live-fire training at the range. Course is split up with 4 hours of classroom being virtual.
Course Details:
Safe Handling and Storage: Master the universal safety rules, firearm clearing/unloading, and secure storage practices.
Childproofing and Access Prevention: Learn vital gun safety rules for children, safety tips, and Massachusetts child access prevention laws.
Massachusetts Firearm Laws: Navigate the state's strict regulations regarding licensing, transportation, storage, prohibited locations, capacity limits, and transfers.
Operation and Shooting Fundamentals: Get hands-on instruction on handgun actions (revolvers and semi-automatics), clearing malfunctions, and the core fundamentals of marksmanship (stance, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control).
Conflict Avoidance and De-Escalation: Understand situational awareness, reaction time, tactical disengagement, and strategies to avoid a fight.
Laws Governing Use of Force: Dive deep into legal definitions regarding the defense of self, others, and property, including a review of the state's "Castle Law".
Suicide Prevention and Injury Reduction: Learn the statistics, warning signs, risk factors, and critical intervention resources like the 988 Lifeline.
Live-Fire Range Session: Apply what you have learned under the direct guidance of a certified instructor, conducting recommended shooting exercises with real-time feedback.
Written Examination: Complete the required 25-question state assessment to certify your knowledge.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
