What You'll Learn
The USCCA’s AR-15 Fundamentals Training Classes are practical! This is not like the high-intensity, high-speed, fad AR-15 training you see on social media. These rifle training classes are actually focused on and effective for civilian use. The goal isn’t to train you like you’re part of an elite tactical unit, rather, this training provides instruction that builds a strong foundation for real-world self-defense regardless of experience level.
This course is excellent both for the casual AR-15 owner who bought their rifle but doesn't have many rounds through it, as well as the experienced AR-15 owner who wishes to become a better defender with their rifle. EVERYONE will walk away with better AR-15 skills, no matter your current experience level.
NOTE This class is SPECIFICALLY for the AR-15 platform. ONLY AR-15 style rifles/carbines/SBR's will be allowed. AR-15 pistol calibre carbines are welcome. NO RIMFIRE RIFLES OR CONVERSION KITS ARE ALLOWED
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least one week in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than one week before the class will not be refunded.
What We'll Teach
AR-15 Fundamentals
This classroom and live-fire AR-15 Fundamentals course is designed to introduce responsible gun owners to the safe handling, proper maintenance, and effective use of AR-15-style rifles in the context of civilian home defense and defense.
Classroom topics include:
- Overview of basic AR-15 nomenclature and function
- Cleaning and maintenance
- Accessorizing the AR-15
Live-range topics include:
- How to safely and effectively operate an AR-15
- How to confirm zero
- How to improve skills and precision with an AR-15
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
***REQUIRED*** 300 rounds of ammunition and minimum 3 magazines. (Note - the more magazines you bring with you pre-filled with ammo, the less time you need to spend refilling them in class.) All rifles MUST have an AR-15 style sling, either single point, two point, or three point. No "bolt-action deer rifle" slings will be allowed. You MUST have your rifle zeroed to 50 yards BEFORE coming to this class. We will verify zero at the range but we will not have time to help you zero during the class. You may wish to bring a chair for downtime when you're not on the line.
